Tehran to react if JCPOA challenged

TEHRAN, Oct. 11 (MNA) – Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi said if others throw doubt on the nuclear deal and breach commitments, Iran will react proportionately.

Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks on the sidelines of the two-day closed-door conference on Nuclear Disarmament in Rome.

He later noted that stances of Iran on JCPOA were shared; “Islamic Republic of Iran will remain committed to the deal as long as the others do the same; otherwise, Tehran will undoubtedly show suitable reactions.”

The official went on to state that the conference on non-proliferation had touched upon three major issues like nuclear security, nuclear safety, and safeguards as well as the JCPOA.

“Stances taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran are that the JCPOA is an extremely noteworthy achievement and the international community needs to spare no efforts in maintaining it,” underlined AEOI head.

He rejoiced to stress that views held by all the world scientific elite present at the conference were very interesting and similar to those of Iran.

“We answered all questions raised in the session and on the whole it was very good session,” Salehi concluded.
